This year was filled with lots of exciting celebrity baby announcements. From the royals to the Kardashians, we've gone through them all to bring you the most influential baby names and trends to watch in 2019. Enjoy!
RANI
Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa
Kate's baby girl Rani (pronounced Ronnie) is a tribute to her partners father Ron. Putting a spin on a loved one's name or using a nickname version continues to be a big trend - and we love it!
HART
Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel
Also inspired by a name from their family tree, Evan's father Hunter Spiegel.
MILES
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend
One of the most popular names in the ketzel shop this year (find the rest here). Naming after musical or cultural icons is always on trend. Chrissy and John named their son after Miles Davis.
VIDA
Michael Buble and Luisana Lopalito
We love names with beautiful meanings like this one, the Spanish word for life. Looking for more girl names with beautiful meanings? Find them here.
BANKS
Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma
There's no info that we can find on what inspired Hilary to choose this name for her baby girl. But somehow we think her 10.9 million Instagram followers approve of this unique name.
ARTHUR
Pippa Middleton and James Matthews
We love this classic name that also happens to be Prince Louis middle name. We predict it will be one of the most popular boys names in 2019.
LOUIS
Prince William and Duchess Kate
Here's another classic name to add to your list. This name is already hugely popular in the U.K and all over Europe and continues to rise in popularity.
Royal side note: We can't wait for the most anticipated royal baby, maybe ever, coming soon from Meghan and Harry! We predict they'll shake things up a bit and choose something with a strong meaning or cultural significance. Under the Queen's approval of course.
CHICAGO
Kim and Kanye West
The Kardashians continue to dominate baby name lists and set the trends. Kim and Kanye named their daughter after Kanye's hometown, but she goes by Chi (pronounced Shy). Trend alert, favourite cities and locations.
STORMI
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott
Kylie's name choice doesn't really have an explanation but it will no doubt start a weather trend of names in 2019.
TRUE
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Although it sounds like just another made up Kardashian name, True is named after Khloe's maternal grandfather True Houghton and her father Robert True Kardashian. It's true!
